Since the company\u2019s founding on June 17, 1996, Nexstar employees have witnessed the impact that local non-profit organizations and public service agencies have on the community. In times of crisis, these organizations mobilize quickly to help those most in need. Often, these organizations make a critical difference in the lives of millions of people every day. No matter the issue, from aiding those affected by a natural disaster, fighting food insecurity, homelessness, supporting American veterans, or providing a clean shelter to animals, these organizations can\u2019t do it alone. For the company\u2019s 20th anniversary in 2016, Nexstar\u2019s Founder, Chairman and CEO, Perry A. Sook, established the company\u2019s \u201cFounder\u2019s Day of Caring.\u201d Since then, during the third week of June, all Nexstar employees are given paid time off to volunteer at non-profit organizations and\/or public service agencies in their local community.<\/span><\/p>
